Its easy to become a volunteer for the AWSS!

We are looking for volunteers who are committed, caring and

responsible to truly make a difference in the lives of abandoned

and homeless animals in our care. We need friendly, outgoing

and personable volunteers to assist the public and work with

the staff in our shelter and at off site events.

Volunteer time commitment - you can set up your own schedule,

we are open Mon to Fri from 8 to 17H00 and saturday mornings from

8 to 13H00. Only a few positions require advanced scheduling such as

Customer care greeters and fundraising events.

Age Restrictions: Due to the nature of the work, volunteers must be

at least 18 years of age. If you are younger and required to do school

community service, please make the arrangements with our office.

Whether you walk dogs at the shelter, stuff envelopes or assist

with a fundraising event - Your work is valued and valuable as

YOU will be making a difference in the lives of animals.

What will you do?

Specialise in what interest you the most -

Good with people, become customer care greeter, help out in one of

our stalls or with a fundraising event.

Good with animals - help with our training program or just walk a dog,

brush a cat and give them some much needed company.
